I’m dedicated to helping people continue to feel better. I love to do the “detective work,” investigating how specific tension patterns manifest in the human body. I look at movement habits, i.e., how people walk, sit at work, play an instrument, drive and exercise.
I even consider the shoes they choose to wear!
When a particular part of the body needs attention, Aston Bodywork allows me to use my own body mechanics, and a unique spiraling technique to address specific problems with the most accuracy and least amount of tissue compression or discomfort.
Because everything relates to everything else, focused work is followed by a general “blending” massage designed to provide the whole body an opportunity to integrate specific changes.
All sessions are conducted with the client clothed in comfortable exercise shorts and a t-shirt or yoga clothes (for women, tank tops or sports bras are good alternatives). This makes it easier to go from bodywork to standing, seated and movement work.
I enjoy working with clients as a team to find simple and easy movement and posture solutions to their current body challenges--Aston-Kinetics.
Sometimes this involves strengthening and loosening/stretching exercises, but often, after bodywork, you notice that you move differently, more comfortably, and your body longs for this "new" movement pattern.
You will learn easy ways to practice your changed movement patterns in the simple acts of daily living: sitting, standing, walking, eating, playing, running, yoga.....you name it..
Paying attention to the satisfaction you feel in the “new” place and comparing it to the feeling you have if you use the "old" pattern may be enough to keep you coming back to the new you.
