A sure fire way to reach that awesome goal

There were years when I didn't set goals.  I thought they were bad luck; that I would just disappoint myself--or someone else.  Better to just go with the flow, she thought meekly.  Amazingly, the flow has taken me to fabulous adventures, and my subconscious had a goal....When I was 12 I decided to do massage for a living, and so the "flow" led me here with thousands of hours of study and practice of bodywork, movement education and the intersection of physical and emotional flourishing. 

What I've learned is that goals can be great, especially if you make the decision clearly--even subconsciously, or maybe especially subconsciously. The other important piece of the puzzle is to create and use your resources internally and externally to support your struggle on the journey.  

If you were to set a goal for your health this year, what would one be?
Think of it in 3 phases:
  1. An easy goal, one you're sure to meet, say getting enough sleep. Sleep does amazing things for the body. It has a huge role in detoxing and in gut health. It promotes healing. It clears your mind. There's a reason we're advised to "Sleep on it" before we make a decision.
  2. A moderate goal, one that's a bit of a stretch. Maybe it's to pull out those old Physical Therapy exercises and commit to do them 3 times a week. Or to pull out your postural awareness study sheets from our sessions and decide on 3 times in the day when you will bring your attention to the way you're moving.
  3. A stretch goal, and I don't mean just stretching, though that's a great idea just as long as you do it properly. This is a goal you will need outside resources for. Training for a marathon. Committing to a series of classes or sessions that will take you out of your habit patterns of pain and discomfort into more ease.
